Here we go:

1.      Understand SEO

Knowing what people are searching for and the words they use in searching is the whole story about SEO optimization. For the next article you are going to post, you need to learn how to phrase your headlines and include certain high ranking words to use in your article so that it appears on first page (possibly) on Google search. Google tries to ensure that only the most relevant information is display on the top result for the users and deploy bots that uses some intelligent algorithms to judge your articles. Most of the criteria use includes the number of words in the article and how many times the searched word appears on your article. But beware that stuffing keywords to trick the bots can be counterproductive and may even lead to severe penalties from Google.

2.      Get a Domain Name

If possible, with just less than $15, get a domain name for your blog. GoDaddy and Whogohost are good but DomainKing is better and will also give you 2 free domain email (Click to get a domain). The essence of domain name is that it grows with you, not after getting traffic with blogspot, you then register and loses all your traffic and Google ranking.

3.      Register on Google Webmaster and Submit your blog to Google

The next most important thing to do on your blog is to submit your blog to Google.

4.      Register also on Google Analytics

Google Analytics show explicit details about how users are interacting with your content, this is possible when you link your blog with the Web Property ID.

5.      Create the necessary pages

The important pages that enhance the credibility of your blog are the About Us, Privacy, Contact, Terms of Service, Sitemap pages etc. Make sure these pages are accurate and very visible on your blog. Make sure you disable the comment option on these pages as they are not needed. Create a contact form (you can use Foxy Form) and include your email for user to reach you quick. When creating the contact form, ensure that email of sender is marked compulsory; this will help you create a list of subscribers in the long run.

6.      Spread your Social Media tentacles

Get your twitter, Facebook, Google+, Reddit, Stumbleupon etc accounts buzzing with your contents and links. It is very important to rank up your blog. Encourage people to like your posts on those media and as well create a Facebook Fan Page, link it to your blog and get people to like it. Get a Facebook App and create plugins for your blog, these include the Like, Share, Comment etc buttons. Try as much as possible to stay away from buying Facebook “likes”. As your blog grows with more content, you will have to pay Facebook to boost your post on Facebook and this will guarantee a genuine flow of likes to your page

7.      Get good backlinks

Comment on blogs and forums in your niche and drop your url for backlinks. You may be tempted with offers of hundreds of free backlinks, the disadvantages in those kinds of trick is that those backlinks are gotten from sources that are not relevant to your blog niche and as far as Google is concern, it is pretty useless. Offer solutions and information to those in your niche and get a good backlink.

8.      Structure your article and Post well.

The most important thing after pageviews and earnings as far as blogging is concern is the “Bounce Rate”. Bounce rate tells you if a visitor was willing to get to another page on your blog or he could not find what he wanted and immediately bounce off to another blog/site. This property is often ignored by amateur bloggers as they focus only on pageviews as may even go to the extent of buying fake traffics. The best traffic is the “organic” traffic from Google and there is no shortcut to it other than to post good articles and information. Even when you have good articles, you also need to insert at decent positions, links to a similar topic on your blog. Be aware that most users are on mobile and if they visit on mobile, your related pages or popular posts may not appear on their browser but the manually inserted links will always be there. Lower Bounce rates indicate loyal visitors/traffic and loyal visitors are more likely to stay around and click on your adverts and earn you more money.

9.      Mobile friendliness policy of Google

The recent upgraded policy by Google is designed to favor sites that have mobile friendly navigation and interface on search results especially as most searches are coming from the mobile browsers. Make sure your mobile template is set up in the Template section of your dashboard and also as stated; make sure your post have related links on them. 10.  Comments from Visitors

Make comments from users easy and as interesting as possible. Include a Facebook comment box on your blog alongside the default blog comment box. End your post with an inciting or controversial comment and encourage visitors to drop their views and comments. Always check your emails for unpublished comments and respond to issues very promptly.

Remember the flow:
Good optimization brings you the decent traffic and PAGEVIEWS, Good articles and information brings you loyal traffic and reduces your BOUNCE RATES
Decent Pageviews and Low Bounce Rate brings you good EARNINGS
